AN EDITION OF THE CÉSAR AWARDS WITHOUT SPARKLES

There is nothing new to say that this year´s film award have lost all glamour due to the pandemic situation we are all living in. Firstly, the Golden Globes in Los Angeles, then the Goya Awards in Málaga and last Friday took place in Paris the 46th edition of the César Awards. Even despite the Covid-19, this was one of less interesting ceremonies that I can remember of. Roschdy Zem was its president, while Marina Foïs was its host. Usually apart from the French cinema stars, we can see a few of the world renowned ones too, due to its more than successful tradition of rewarding the most outstanding people in the industry. However, since Brad Pitt´s refusal last year, they have chosen they have chosen to stay more local to reward Le Splendid and Jean Pierre Bacri. Even so, we could see Nathalie Baye, Michel Hazanavicius, Isabelle Huppert, Charlotte Rampling or Lambert Wilson on the Olimpia´s stage. This year´s winner was Adieu les cons with seven statuettes including Best Script, Best Director and Best Film. Hopefully, next year's gala will be more sparkling.
