OUMUAMUA, THE FIRST VISITOR FROM ANOTHER SOLAR SYSTEM
Last year, the interstellar comet Oumuamua
was discovered when it was in his closest position within the Earth, the
astronomers discovered very interesting facts about it such as his enormous
size (about a half mile-long) or even the way it rotates which is completely
uncommon. However, the most outstanding fact is that this object is the first
visitor from another solar system, so it gave us the chance to study further what
is beyond our closest neighbourhood.
Recent investigations that took place at the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre have even
suggested that this object could be the remains of an alien spaceship. However,
for now you can enjoy this TED Talk by the astrobiologist Karen J. Meech,
meanwhile we keep waiting to be able to know more data as well as more detailed
results about this fascinating discovery.
