WASSILY KANDINSKY, A VISIONARY ON THE TRANSDISCIPLINAR ART
Wassily
Kandinsky was born in Moscow in 1866 and died in Paris in 1944, he is undoubtedly
one of the most relevant painters of all time. However, if you are trying to
understand the creative process of his works, you will understand he is not
only a great painter, but a visionary. He introduced several concepts into his paintings,
from other artistic fields, making him a pioneer in the transdisciplinary art. It
is well known that Kandinsky wanted people not only to see, but hear his
paintings as well as he believed that the vision and the sound should be linked
together, just like music. An abstract concept that made him a unique artist of
his time and one of of the faces of the Expressionism and the Abstract Art.
Below you can see one of my favourites works of him, Dominant Curve, that was finished in 1936, it is full of colour and
light ready to transport you in a parallel world, where none of the world´s
problems have ever existed, a perfect utopia. Nowadays, this piece is being
shown at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
