ALFONSO CUARÓN ENLARGES HIS LEGEND AND GREEN BOOK TAKES THE BIG PRIZE AT THE OSCARS 2019
Last Sunday took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles the 91st
Academy Awards: The Oscars 2019. This year, the great novelty was the presenter,
or rather the absence of it. Since almost two decades ago there had not been a
ceremony without a presenter. And all this, due to the more than unfortunate
homophobic jokes of Kevin Hart (who was supposed to be the master of ceremonies
of this year) at the beginning of his career. Despite this, the gala went on
normally while the various presenters were passing the baton to each other as
the Spanish actor Javier Bardem who made much of his speech in Spanish as a
protest against the abusive policies of Donald Trump towards the Hispanic
collective, especially towards Mexico. And by chance of destiny, Alfonso Cuarón
with Roma, his last masterpiece
enlarging his legend adding two more awards to his accolades that already has
five golden statuettes, further enhancing the golden generation of Mexican cinema
"The Three Friends of Cinema" (Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Guillermo del
Toro and Alfonso Cuarón) adding a total of eleven Oscar awards in this last
decade. Something totally unusual. The big surprise of the night was given by Green Book by Peter Farrelly which won
the Oscar for Best Film. In short, another year to celebrate the cinema of the
whole world.
